Nagat - Eyoun El Alb LP

Here we have it: the first reissue of the legendary Egyptian singer Nagat (aka Nagat al-Saghira), who has been primed for rediscovery following the reissue campaigns of other foundational singers of the Arab world like Fairuz and Oum Kalsoum. This album contains the much-loved minor-key earworm "Ana Bashaa El Bahr" which seeped its way across Soundclouds and YouTubes likely tracing back to its inclusion on "The Rough Guide To The Music Of Egypt" compilation CD in 2003. Consisting of four tracks, the album features two tracks produced by Hany Shenouda whose group Al Massrieen is a reference on the Arabic disco funk scene.
